A visit to a UNESCO project in a desert area in Libya, where basic education, such as reading, writing and arithmetic are taught, as well as the skills needed to earn a living, such as agriculture, tailoring and carpentry. The second part of the film tells the story of a young man who enters the centre without education or money and is finally trained to earn his living as a tailor.
