International Zone's first colour documentary was filmed in the spectacular landscape of Ecuador. An Italian theatre director, Fabio Pacchioni, is send to Quito by UNESCO to establish a national theatre company. He believes that the theatre plays an important role in improving the quality of life. How he starts to find and train his actors and brings their efforts to bear on Ecuador's problems of poverty and isolation is shown in an entirely unrehearsed true-to-life adventure.
