Mortice and Tenon Joints

Language: Silent film

The best way to join together two pieces of wood in the form of a T is by making what is called a mortice and a tenon joint. The first step is to mark off the width of the tenon with a square, and the thickness wih a scriber. The next step is to cut away the unwanted wood with a chisel called a gauge. Then, the tenon is made with a small tenon saw and the fitting together of the mortice and tenon is shown in detail.
