Technical Assistance Mission in Indonesia: Talk - Peter Neuman
This Technical Assistance mission report outlines how Indonesia had one of the largest United Nations (UN) Technical Missions in the world to combat illiteracy. Approximately 77 technical experts of the UN worked in various fields to assist the Indonesian government in building up their nation. The report highlights how the Government of Indonesia and UNESCO decided to continue their project of contributing textbooks and other reading materials to the tremendous anti-illiteracy drive. The Indonesian Government accepted plans for a central production authority to develop standards and stimulate production by providing training facilities and training information to plants all over the country.
