Music Round the World: The Music of Spain (with commentary)
This edition of the Music Round the World series showcases a variety of songs, dances, and ceremonies from Spain. Including the following song: Fandango de Comares, an Andalusian song-dance; an Andalusian Christmas song-dance inspired by Moorish music, sung by a musical brotherhood of Bormujo; a Murcia musical brotherhood singing a religious song; Romani peoples dancing the Fandango; songs of olive workers; a Sevillana; a Bol?ro; a Fandango played on the bagpipe; a 15th century Spanish lullaby; finally, and a Galician dance-song. Music from Spain forms part of the Columbia Library of Folk and Primitive Music edited by Alan Lomax. The recordings were made in Spain by Alan Lomax, and selected for broadcasting by the Radio Division of UNESCO in Paris. The commentary is by Keith Wood.
