This audio presentation focuses on world languages and how the number of official national languages continues to increase. Additionally, the conundrum of selecting a world language is outlined; as new languages are always being formed it gets more difficult to select one. Artificial languages like Esperanto were discussed as a possible solution to this dilemma, however, Esperanto is not the only artificial language. The importance of developing our knowledge of how to teach languages efficiently to allow us to increase our understanding of other peoples is highlighted. UNESCO’s Fundamental Education project in Haiti is noted
