Ubon Fundamental Education, by Luther Evans
This report on the creation of the Ubon National Center for Fundamental Education by Dr. Luther Evans focuses on the progress of education in Thailand. Highlighted in the presentation is UNESCO’s association with two important projects for education in Thailand: the Cha-Ching Sao Project for the use of new teaching methods for schools, and the teacher training program in Bangkok. The new Center for Fundamental Education in Ubon was intended to assist adult education and to be a national service to the people of Thailand. This centre was assisted by the International Labour Organization (ILO), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and the United Nations Technical Assistance Administration, and UNESCO. The United States Government also donated equipment to the mission.
