Africa 2009 is a twelve-year programme, launched in 1998 by African heritage institutions in partnership with UNESCO WHC, ICCROM and CRATerre-EAG, with the aim to build capacity in national heritage organisations in Sub-Saharan Africa to better conserve and protect their cultural heritage.
