In this interview, Kingsley C. Dassanaike discusses the challenges that face visually impaired people, and especially children, in Sri Lanka (formally Ceylon). He outlines the resources that are needed to address these challenges in Sri Lanka and the importance of changing negative societal attitudes towards blindness. This interview was recorded during the General Assembly of the World Council for the Welfare of the Blind (WCWB), held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in 1954.
