In this recording, Gerald Wendt discusses the potential of solar energy and recent technological developments in this field. He highlights three international conferences occurring on this topic between 1954 and 1955, three different methods of harnessing solar energy, and explains the implications of these developments in India especially. In addition, he describes the design of a solar heater intended to produce energy for small engines, designed by A.L. Gardner, a UNESCO advisor at the National Physical Laboratory in New Delhi, India.
