This memo from the United Nations (Paris, Series No. 23) concerns the difficulties that refugees face, and focuses on the San Sabba refugee camp, in the city of Trieste, Italy. The recording features sounds of opera singing, by an unnamed singer who is a European refugee living at camp San Sabba. The recording features clips from interviews that Mr. Stanley Wright, from the office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), conducted with numerous unnamed refugees at the camp who are waiting for visas. Some of the numerous ways that the United Nations and other international organizations provide support to refugees are outlined.
