In this recording, Ms Mommel from the UNESCO Department of Technical Assistance Programme (TA) delivers a speech for the The International Association of Women in Radio & Television (IAWRT) conference on the functions of the TA Programme and how they promote economic development to underdeveloped countries. Mrs. Mommel?s speech raises awareness of the inequality in the Technial Assistance department at the time, with 17 women out of 152 experts in the programme. Mrs. Mommel outlines her view of how the TA programme is the base for lifting the level of living in underdeveloped countries, and how educational assistance is the foundation on which all other technical development, agricultural and industry rests.
