Language: Multilingual
The 2021 World Press Freedom Day Global Conference hosted six regional forums focusing on press freedom trends and issues to media viability, transparency of online platforms, media and information literacy, safety of journalists and more. The 2021 Regional Forums were built upon the historic series of regional seminars held in in Alma-Ata (1992), Santiago (1994), Sana’a (1996), and Sofia (1997), which adopted similar regional declarations inspired by the 1991 Windhoek Declaration on promoting an independent and pluralistic African media held in Namibia.
