G. S. Wade reports on the 54th session of UNESCO's Executive Board, chaired by Ben Bowen Thomas. Wade describes some of the major topics of the session, including plans for a UNESCO oceanographic training vessel, plans to reconstruct a library in Brazil, plans to preserve ancient Egyptian monuments set to be submerged by the construction of the Aswan Dam, and plans to commemorate the works of Pyotry Tchaikovsky, Frederic Chopin, and Charles Darwin in 1960.
