Este vídeo traz a apresentação de Valter Roberto Silvério, sociólogo, coordenador técnico da edição em português da Coleção História Geral da África e professor da Universidade Federal de São Carlos (UFSCar). Sua palestra “A UNESCO no Brasil: o projeto de 1950 e a Coleção História Geral da África”, ocorreu durante a cerimônia de lançamento da Coleção História Geral da África em português, em Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, em 13 de abril de 2011.
O vídeo faz parte da série Debates e perspectivas para a institucionalização da Lei no 10.639/2003, desenvolvida pelo Programa Brasil-África: História Cruzadas, tem como objetivo divulgar as contribuições realizadas pela UNESCO para implementar e institucionalizar a Lei no 10.639, de 2003. A série se inicia com as discussões desenvolvidas no decorrer dos eventos de lançamento da edição em português da Coleção História Geral da África da UNESCO, realizados no primeiro semestre de 2011.

This video is the presentation of Valter Roberto Silvério, sociologist, technical coordinator of the Portuguese version of UNESCO General History of Africa Collection, and professor at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). His lecture “UNESCO in Brazil: the project of 1950 and the General History of Africa Collection”, took place during the launching ceremony of UNESCO General History of Africa Collection in Portuguese, in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais, Brazil, on 13 April, 2011.
The video is part of the series on “discussions and perspectives for the institutionalization of the Law 10,639 of 2003”, developed for the Brazil-Africa: Crossed Histories Crossed Programme, has the objective to disseminate the contributions carried through by UNESCO to implement and to institutionalize the Law 10,639, of 2003. The series initiates with the discussions developed in the occasions of the launching events of the UNESCO General History of Africa Collection in Portuguese, carried through the first semester of 2011.
