Together for Information Policies in Asia
The transition to information society relates to the omnipresent influence of computer based networks and thereby the globalization of information and communication especially caused by the Internet. Over the last decade, significant changes have been witnessed in information policies, even in the least developed countries. Together for Information Policies in Asia portrays country members of the Asia Pacific Information Network (APIN) discussing and developing a coordinated regional strategy on information policies. The discussion took place in Bangkok at the “Information Policies and Statistics Workshop”, 13-15 September 2010. The result will be guidelines on how to establish national information policies in member countries
