Samarkand is one of the most ancient cities of the world. In 2007 Samarkand celebrated its 2750th anniversary. Standing on the crossroads of the Great Silk Road, le city preserved its unique culture, art and outstanding architectural monuments.
One of these architectural monuments, the Registan Square, has become a venue of the International Music Festival "Sharq Taronalari" (Melodies of Orient).
This ensemble of 10 DVD constitutes comprehensive account of the 1997 edition of the festival
