The MDG-F project Culture and Development: Promotion of cultural industries and initiatives in Baasari land and Saloum River Delta in Senegal was jointly implemented by UNESCO, UNDP, UNFPA, UNIDO and WTO from 2009 to December 2012.

It helped promote an enabling environment for local economic initiatives and cultural industries within the framework of decentralization together with the effective involvement of all grassroots stakeholders.

The capacity building of stakeholders led to the advent of strong organizations that can provide effective solutions to the management of operations and fight gender-based violence.
