This film shows the work being done by UNRWA, other UN Agencies and charitable organizations in and around Bethlehem to help the Arab refugees and others in need in an area a mile from the border between Jordan and Israel. Help covers many aspects of daily life, where many are unemployed : Food that can be stored (i.e. flour, sugar, lentils, etc.) is supplied at Distribution Centres at a cost to UNRWA of more than $15 million p.a. Clothing is collected worldwide; medical supplies go to the 90 WHO/UNRWA clinics ; transport trucks carry supplies to remote areas; UNESCO/UNRWA schools offer hope to the entire community; a Vocational Training Centre has been set up with the help of ILO and refugee co-operatives are being registered with the Jordan Govt, with the help of UNRWA.
