Hello, I’m Audrey Azoulay, Director-General of UNESCO.
Every year, on the thirteenth of February, we celebrate radio – a medium that is 110 years young; a constantly evolving platform for culture, for knowledge, for news, for the voices of the world.
Wherever you are, radio is with you. In lockdown, it opens doors to the voices of the world, to health information, to education, to the arts.
It is a precious tool for the transmission of information, a global common good.
I wish you all a very happy World Radio Day!
