The Canticle to Hope - Orchestral and Choral Work. By Paul Claudel and Paul Hindemith
This song is an orchestral and choral work written by Paul Claudel and Paul Hindemith for UNESCO and the International Music Council. The audio is of the song?s first performance recorded in the Palais des Beaux-Arts in Brussels, at a gala concert in honour of the UNESCO International Conference on Music Education. Because of the nature of the performance and the presence of the composer in the rostrum, the occasion might well be claimed as one of the important musical events of 1953. The performance was recorded by the Belgian National Radio institute, brought to you by the UNESCO department of Cultural activities in collaboration with the UNESCO radio division, and narrated by Keith Wood.
