(Audio recording)

Language: English

UNESCO Radio presents, Middle Eastern Journey, the first of a series of three programmes by Leonard Cottrell. This radio production was based on Cottrell?s journey to Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Egypt, and Libya to study and report on the specialized agencies sent by UNESCO. This was a two-month journey undertaken by three of the United Nations (UN) specialized agencies. This programme highlights how UNESCO specialized agencies features a Medical Officer of the World Health Organization (WHO) in Beirut, Dr. Kenneth Sinclair-Loutit who stresses that UN Aide is not something that was being done by one part of the world to another, but it is an example of mutual aid by members of the UN. The UN, UNICEF, WHO, and UNESCO worked together on these missions.
