Back Page News is a UNESCO dramatized feature presentation that highlights the evolution of the postage system and the influential work of the UN special agencies in creating international conventions and agreements. The UNESCO convention for the abolition of customs duties on educational, scientific, and cultural material is highlighted. This presentation outlines how UNESCO has become the nerve-centre of a great network of agencies set up by the member nations. The agencies noted in the presentation are: the Universal Postal Union (UPU), the International Telecommunication Union, the International Labour Organization (ILO), the Trusteeship Council, the International Court of Justice, the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the International Bank and the Monetary Fund, and the World Health Organization (WHO). During the historical portion of this presentation, personalities Rowland Hill and Montgomery Blaire are underscored.
