Study Abroad, UNESCO Handbook for Students
This review by W. Carter is on the sixth volume of UNESCO’s once annual publication, Study Abroad, and its companion volume, Vacations Abroad. Mr. Carter describes the Study Abroad handbook and its contents ranging from details of over 45,000 fellowships and scholarships through which individuals could study in foreign countries. The review outlines that in this publication, information from over 60 countries is listed along with details of programs organized by UNESCO’s specialized agencies. Additionally, Mr. Carter outlines how the Vacations Abroad handbook gives details on educational opportunities such as summer schools, study tours, and work camps, which bring folks of all ages and nationalities together during the holidays. Carter emphasizes that these handbooks demonstrate that the avenues for learning and the exchange of ideas were expanding.
