Prof. Alan Smith, UNESCO Chairholder, works for 10 years within the UNESCO Chair in Education for Pluralism, Human Rights and Democracy. The activities of the Chair focuses on contribution on Education, to the transformation of the society through the development of curriculum on Human Rights. 2 strong values added to the Chair within UNESCO: is the action linked to the universal declaration of human rights, and also the International profile of the Chair, that have raised awareness and development of international collaboration in the field of values and civic education and with the universities of Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and develop the initiatives for 4 universities in Sub Saharan Africa and Ireland for better research capacity.
