Learning for Empathy: Teacher Exchange and Support Programme

Language: English

This video captures moments from a study visit in July 2019 as teachers and education officials from Bangladesh, Indonesia and Pakistan met with the partners in Japan.
In addition to the hands-on workshop sessions on the whole-school approach and school curricula, the group visited several schools and learning centres in Tokyo to see school and community based activities in view of improving inclusiveness and quality of learning around the notion of empathy, and exchanged ideas and experience with Japanese teachers, students and parents. They brainstormed and came up with their own plans for making learning more empowering and meaningful back in their schools.
The visit was part of UNESCO's Learning for Empathy project: A teacher exchange and support programme, sponsored by the Government of Japan.
