UNESCO Chair United Kingdom: meet with Jagdish Gundara

Prof. Gundara, Chair-holder of the UNESCO Chair in Intercultural Studies and Teacher Education , University of London, highlights the main objective of the UNESCO Chair which is to examine what teacher education can do to ensure that all teachers are competent, and all teachers have intercultural competencies. It is very important to have North-South and South-South collaboration across institutions in order to develop research and training activities in democratic inclusive values in schools, especially in small states like Mauritius. The Chair works closely with the institutions of higher education in Europe, Brazil, South Africa and India, and establishing good practices in the filed of Intercultural teacher education.
