Why Building Back Better with Access to Information is crucial, and how to protect your Rights to Access Information ?
In the framework of the International Day for Universal Access to Information (IDUAI) celebrated yearly on 28 September, several representatives of the civil society, activists, journalists, recall the need for accurate and reliable information ensuring more powerful and stronger communities and institutions: Rahaf Sholi, journalist, Palestine; Maria del Carmen Nova, International Open Justice Network (RIJA), Mexico; Edward Sekyewa, HUB for Investigative Media, Uganda and Gilbert Sendugwa, Africa Freedom of Information Center, Uganda
Seven online webinars organized by UNESCO and partner institutions will continue addressing these trends and challenges on the 28 and 29 September, focusing on the central role of access to information legislation and its implementation as well as the need to strengthen international cooperation in promoting and implementing the right to information as a fundamental human right.
