Mission to Liberia - Fundamental Education

B.L. Manjunath, the head of the Technical Assistance assignment in Liberia, discusses the work that was accomplished since taking charge in 1954. UNESCO initiated a number of projects to address fundamental education in the country. Some of these projects included developing a training centre for teachers and educators, establishing a national organization on community development, and creating facilities with equipment for scientific research. The Government of Liberia and UNESCO’s goal was to increase literacy and improve elementary education throughout the country.
