Technical Assistance Egypt : National Research Centre for Scientific Instruments in Cairo

Language: English

The National Research Centre for Scientific Instruments in Cairo was a project originally requested by the Egyptian Government for the purposes of repairing research equipment from universities and research laboratories. This recording features a description of the experiences of members of the Scientific Instruments team who were sent through the UNESCO Technical Assistance Programme. The primary goals were to train personnel to repair on-hand equipment and establish a standardized laboratory where equipment could be inspected after repair. There also arose a need for a mechanic shop to supply replacement parts needed for repairs. Increased demand for research equipment in Egypt resulted in the need to expand the Centre’s laboratories and increase efficiency in repairs.
