Angkor: Ten Years of Safeguarding
In 1992 the Angkor site in Cambodia zas inscribed on both the World Heritage List and the List of World Heritage in Danger. In 1993, at the Tokyo Conference, being the first Inter-Governmental Conference on Angkor, an international coordinating committee for the safeguarding and development of the Angkor site, co-chaired by France and Japan, was appointed to coordinate the international community's technical and financial support to ensure the safeguarding, preservation and promotion of the site.
