Artist Biography

Banri Namikawa was born in Shimane(Japan)in 1931. He graduated from the University of Japan (Faculty of Photography) in 1955. World heritage sites and cultural treasures are central themes in his work. Namikawa has received several photography awards, such as the Spain photo Culture Award (1967) and the Distinguished Merit Award of Mexico(1970), among others.

Banri Namikawa passed away in 2006, at the age of 75.
