3rd Memory of the World Global Policy Forum, p3 - Interdisciplinary approach to protect documentary heritage (Japanese)
Could an interdisciplinary approach be integrated between memory institutions and civil society to facilitate the preservation and access to documentary heritage? Since it is almost impossible to predict a disaster, what should governments do or what should civil society be asked to do in advance to prevent the loss of documentary heritage? What is the place of the original document in digitization? These are among the questions posed to the experts at the closing of Session 1.
Moving on to Session 2, the expert panel discusses the importance of increased international cooperation to better safeguard documentary heritage at risk in the event of war, conflict, and other man-made disasters.
