Vacancy: consultant expert for the Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System
The Intergovernmental Coordination Group for the Indian Ocean Tsunami Warning and Mitigation System (ICG/IOTWS) was formed in response to the Indian Ocean tsunami that occurred on 26 December 2004. Located at the offices of the Bureau of Meteorology in Perth, Western Australia, the ICG/IOTWS Secretariat works closely with regional, national and international organizations to establish the regional Tsunami Warning System.
The ICG/IOTWS Secretariat is looking for an expert consultant to assist with the organizational arrangements for meetings, preparation of technical documents and reports, provision of scientific and technical expertise/guidance and support to Indian Ocean Member States, maintenance of databases and the ICG/IOTWS website, and provision of administrative assistance to support the effective functioning of the ICG/IOTWS Secretariat, among other duties.
