UNESCO and the abrdn Charitable Foundation aCF have joined forces to launch the project Promoting sustainable development through UNESCOs programmes and sites which focuses on fostering a more sustainable and climateneutral Europe through research and education The St Naum Springs part of the World Heritage property Natural and Cultural Heritage of the Ohrid region and of the OhridPrespa Transboundary Biosphere Reserve is one of the 5 sites selected to develop innovative solutions to environmental and climate change challenges With its St Naum springs Biological and Ecosystem services Inventory SNBESI project the site promotes innovative ways of mapping waterrelated ecosystems and conserving biodiversity
