Lifelong learning: Featuring the Caribbean
Lifelong learning should be made ‘a necessity and not an option’ – that was the verdict of participants at the CONFINTEA VI Sub-Regional Follow-up Meeting for the Caribbean.
In response, and to support Caribbean states’ efforts to promote youth and adult learning policies and practices, the UNESCO Institute for Lifelong Learning (UIL) is presenting a series of ‘Caribbean Features’. These texts, which will draw on data from the meeting presentations, as well as the national reports of the third Global Report on Adult Learning and Education (GRALE III), complemented by UIL research, will review and analyse adult learning and education in the Caribbean. The aim is to highlight progress and challenges, while offering inspiration and examples of best practice.
