Presentation

Centro de Investigación en Comunicación Comunitaria A.C., a non-profit organization committed to supporting vulnerable indigenous communities, proposes to: 1) establish 6 artistic start-ups in Mexico through the development of a training program and a pre-incubation process; 2) promote access to national and international markets for cultural goods and services produced by indigenous peoples.

How does this project contribute to the implementation of the 2005 Convention?

Creates new business models for the cultural and creative industry in Mexico - The project seeks to develop a more inclusive cultural industry in Mexico through the creation of start-up and e-commerce site by indigenous people.

Main activities

  • Provide a training program for indigenous creators that responds to their cultural contexts and the specific needs.
  • Provide seed funding over an incubation period of 9 months to indigenous people’s culture-related start-ups.
  • Develop a virtual e-commerce platform to promote the work of indigenous artists.
  • Conduct an audiovisual campaign on indigenous art to raise awareness on the importance of the diversity of cultural expressions within the framework of social inclusion.
