The prize-giving ceremony of the UNESCO-Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize for the Creative Economy 2023 will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on Tuesday, June 6, from 6 pm (local time)

Organized in the margins of the Ninth Session of the Conference of the Parties to the 2005 Convention, the prize-giving ceremony will take place on 6 June at 6:00 p.m. in the presence of Dr. Abul Kalam Abdul Momen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, and Mr. Ernesto Ottone R., Assistant Director-General for Culture.

The winner will receive the trophy and an award of US$50,000, following MoTIV Creations Limited of Uganda, laureate of the Prize in 2021.

On this occasion, a musical interlude will be performed by singer Vimbai Zimuto (Zimbabwe).

About the Prize

Created in 2020 with the generous support from the government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh, the UNESCO-Bangladesh Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman International Prize for the Creative Economy rewards exceptional initiatives that support young entrepreneurs in the field of the creative economy.

The Prize bears the name of the father of the Bengali nation, Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who believed in the power of youth and culture to unify people and build peace in society.
