The 2023 WISE Summit will focus on cultivating human creativity and values in the age of AI that will redefine the way we teach and learn for the 21st century. The 11th edition of the Summit will cover a wide range of topics, such as the impact of culture and language on education systems, practical solutions for navigating an AI-driven world, neuroeducation, the development of future-proof skills, and best practices for implementing, and scaling up innovative education models.

The policy round table will bring together representatives from higher education departments and qualifications authorities from key countries, as well as leading education and development organizations, to discuss current policies that drive an inclusive ecosystem which promotes inclusivity and access to higher education for the most marginalized, and areas for future development. Additionally, the session will showcase policy work around the recognition of qualifications for forcibly displaced populations.

Objectives

  • Showcase current policy provisions at national, regional and international levels which support the inclusion of marginalized groups, with an emphasis on the Forcibly Displaced Populations;
  • Highlight commitment to the implementation of the UNESCO Qualifications Passport as a mechanism for recognition of qualifications and discuss efforts for anchoring the UQP in the Higher Education eco-system of representative countries;
  • Discuss other possible areas of intervention and policy provision beyond the field of recognition, to highlight the importance of inclusion in higher education and most importantly the role that higher education plays in connecting humanitarian actions to the development plan.
  • Emphasize the importance of international collaboration.
