The L'Oréal-UNESCO For Women in Science Egypt Young Talents Programme is dedicated to fostering the advancement of young women in the scientific community of Egypt. Awards: The program bestows three esteemed fellowships upon deserving candidates:

  • Two fellowships are granted to Egyptian women pursuing post-doctoral research working in a research laboratory, institute, or university in Egypt. 
  • One fellowship granted to Egyptian women pursuing a PhD (doctoral degree) in a research laboratory, institute, or university in Egypt. 

Timeline:

  • Application Opening Date: January 31, 2024
  • Application Closing Date: July 31, 2024
  • Review by Jury Members: August 1 - August 30, 2024
  • Announcement of Winners: End of September 2024
  • Fellowship Awards Ceremony: October - November 2024

 

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

  • Hold Egyptian nationality
  • Work in a research laboratory, institute, or university in Egypt
  • Meet age requirements (no more than 45 years old for postdoctoral researchers and 35 years old for PhD students)
  • Demonstrate exceptional academic achievements and a commitment to advancing scientific knowledge

 

Selection Criteria: The selection process considers various factors, including academic record, research project quality, innovation, communication skills, and career trajectory. Emphasis is placed on the potential of candidates to inspire and empower future generations of female scientists.
