Call for Proposals: Organizing activities under the project 'Achieving Sustainable Tourism with Intangible Cultural Heritage and Creative City Network in Waterway Cities of ASEAN'

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Multisectoral Regional Office in Bangkok or UNESCO Bangkok, with support from Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration (Public Organization) or DASTA and K11, is seeking a contractor to organize activities under the pilot project 'Achieving Sustainable Tourism with Intangible Cultural Heritage and Creative City Network in Waterway Cities of ASEAN' which aims to strengthen network of community-based and sustainable tourism stakeholders in ASEAN sub-region, particularly in pilot beneficiary countries, i.e. Cambodia, Lao PDR and Thailand. 

The contractor is requested to carry out the following tasks, in consultation with UNESCO Bangkok and DASTA: 

  1. Design agendas, identify topics, speakers and participants and organize 6 thematic webinars on issues surrounding sustainable development in tourism, safeguarding of local living heritage and promotion of local cultural and creative industries in line with UCCN framework. Each webinar shall have no less than 40 participants from no less than 5 ASEAN countries, approx. 50% of whom are female.   2. Design agenda, identify lecture and discussion topics, fieldwork activities, speakers, facilitators and participants of the pilot field workshop on integrating intangible heritage and Creative Cities Network to sustainable tourism in waterway cities of Lao PDR, Cambodia and Thailand in Nan Old City, to be held in Nan Old City, Thailand tentatively in February 2024. The workshop shall have no less than 30 participants from Cambodian, Lao and Thai cities with waterway cultures as tourism assets, with half from public sector and half from private sector related to sustainable tourism, cultural tourism and eco-tourism. 
  3. Co-organize the pilot-field workshop, identify and handle logistic, meals and accommodation arrangement for the participants, facilitators and staff of the pilot field workshop on integrating intangible heritage and Creative Cities Network to sustainable tourism in waterway cities of Lao PDR, Cambodia and Thailand in Nan Old City; 
  4. Mobilize and handle fee for support staff and experts to facilitate the online and on-site activities; 
  5. Plan PR actions, develop content, design graphics and related surveys and disseminate PR materials to advertise webinars and on-site workshop to gather registration from target participants, including broadcasting of activities and proceedings through social media outlets of the contractor and partnering organizations.
