Event
EdTech Korea Forum in Seoul
Forum participants will explore the implications of artificial intelligence and digital technology developments on present-day and future education systems. Speakers will share policies and strategies to strengthen the resilience of education systems, from primary and higher education to technical and vocational education and training, and demonstrate how digital innovations can enhance inclusive learning in schools and for youth and adult learning, thereby promoting equitable lifelong learning opportunities for all.
As part of the forum, Mr Jian Xi Teng, UIL Programme Specialist for Technologies in Lifelong Learning, will present some of the current challenges to inclusive learning and propose ways that technology – including emerging technologies such as AI, extended reality (XR) and blockchain – can provide marginalized communities with greater opportunities to learn. UIL and UNESCO colleagues will facilitate panel discussions following the presentations.
Global Education and Innovation Summit
The Korean Ministry of Education will host a complementary and concurrent event to the EdTech Korea Forum – the Global Education and Innovation Summit – to which UIL’s Director a.i., Mr Borhene Chakroun, has been invited to contribute. Speaking during the panel ‘Innovation and higher education’, Mr Chakroun will discuss the role of universities in the era of digital transformation. The panel will then explore ways to promote cooperation among relevant stakeholders to advance regionally balanced technical developments and strengthen national competitiveness.
