With the mission to elevate the global prominence of the Arabic language, UNESCO launched the Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Programme to strengthen the use of the Arabic language in 2017.

The programme’s diverse range of activities, among which is the annual commemoration of the World Arabic Language Day on 18 December, promotes the contributions of Arabic to universal civilization and the production of state-of-the-art knowledge.

On the occasion of the 2023 edition of the World Arabic Language Day, UNESCO presents an exhibition highlighting the Programme’s main achievements. It will take place at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris, Salle des Pas Perdus, from 18 to 22 December and will showcase how the program has advanced Arabic by fostering dialogue, enriching diversity, and creating knowledge.
