Youth from around the world are invited to join both in-person and online to learn how they can champion the fight against racism and discrimination. Through participatory lectures and thematic workshops, the Master Class encourages young people to enhance their knowledge on various topics related to racism and discrimination. It also gives them the opportunity to reflect on ways in which they could become changemakers in society by being actively involved in local initiatives. By doing so, the Master Class provides an enabling environment to share ideas on leveraging youth agency and equips youth with the skills and know-how to start making positive changes in their own communities.

This year the Master Class will feature Professor Evelyne Heyer and  H.E. M. Emmanuel Nkosinathi Mthethwa, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary in France, Permanent Delegate of the Republic of South Africa to UNESCO. Additionally, TikTok’s biggest creator Khaby Lame will also join this year’s Master Class.

The global edition of the Master Class builds on the success of previous editions, which have reached over 13,000 students worldwide since starting in 2019. The 2023 global edition gathered 1,500 students and teachers from 22 countries onsite and online.

At the end of each edition, participants are asked to commit on future actions that they can implement at their own level, based on the knowledge, skills and motivation gained through the Master Class. Across the globe, they contribute to change in their local initiatives and motivate their fellows to actively participate in advancing this significant mission.
