Launch of the 2023 public selection of projects from the Petrobras Social and Environmental Program in Brazil

Petrobras has just launched the most prominent public selection of the Petrobras Socio-environmental Program of the last ten years.

In 2023, the selection will be divided into two calls, and registration is now open.

In this first stage, the Program will select more than 20 projects from the North, Northeast, Midwest and South regions in the areas of:

  • Education
  • Sustainable Economic Development
  • Ocean
  • Forests

In the second half of the year, the Program will publicize the public notice, including the Southeast region.

About the Program

The Petrobras Social and Environmental Program aims to encourage the development of new partnerships, strengthen bonds and generate mutual benefits, providing opportunities for respect for the social, environmental, territorial and cultural rights of local communities and populations, as well as producing positive results in social and environmental issues relevant to the business and for society. 

The Program has initiatives in four lines of action:

  • Education
  • Sustainable Economic Development
  • Ocean 
  • Forests

In addition, it covers cross-cutting topics such as:

  • Human rights
  • Innovation
  • Early Childhood

In line with Petrobras' commitment to the United Nations Global Compact, the company supports initiatives that contribute to achieving the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that make up the 2030 Agenda, intending to combat poverty and inequality, ensure respect for human rights, promoting preserving the environment and tackling climate change. Accordingly, Petrobras' priorities are initiatives focused on the SDGs:
