Opening of Capacity-building course on the safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage in Italy
In 15 online interactive meetings, the Programme will enhance knowledge and competences of practitioners, researchers, and experts from relevant institutions and civil society organisations regarding the safeguarding and management of living heritage. In particular, the main target group of the training consists of the communities involved with the 17 Italian elements inscribed on the UNESCO List of Intangible Cultural Heritage and the Register of Good Safeguarding Practices.
As part of UNESCO’s global Capacity-building Programme for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, the training will revolve around the principles of the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, on the year of its twentieth anniversary. The training will include transmission of knowledge and practices, access to heritage, safeguarding measures, gender, sustainable development, and related ethical principles. The programme is also intended to bolster networking and cooperation at the country level among the various actors concerned.
