“Transforming Mentalities” - Gender Equality Training Workshops organized in Mongolia

In 2022, with the support from UNESCO Multisectoral Regional for East Asia, Mongolian National Commission for UNESCO carried out an online campaign aimed at eliminating toxic gender stereotypes within the framework of UNESCO “Transforming Mentalities” initiative. Various gender champions, both male and female, shared their knowledge, experiences and personal stories online.

As a continuation of this project, a Training of Trainers Workshop for the campaigners and a Student Workshop were organized respective on 12 and 20 Sep. 2023 in UN House in Mongolia. These trainings aim at promoting gender equality, combating harmful standards and stereotypes. More than 70 students (46% female) from UNESCO's ASPNet Schools in Mongolia have participated in this training.
