UNESCO Transcultura call to young Caribbean solo musicians

The programme Transcultura: Integrating Cuba, the Caribbean and the European Union through Culture and Creativity, funded by the European Union and implemented by the UNESCO Regional Office in Havana has partnered with the prestigious Accademia Musicale Chigiana to provide young Caribbean music talents the unprecedented opportunity to take one of the available courses as part of the Chigiana Summer Academy 2024, from July 4 to September 2, in the city of Siena, Italy. 

The call is aimed at solo musicians – either singers or instrumentalists – from 18 to 35 years and from any of the following Caribbean countries: Antigua and Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, Cuba, Dominica, the Dominican Republic, Grenada, Guyana, Haiti, Jamaica, Montserrat, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Suriname, and Trinidad and Tobago. 

This opportunity consists of:

• Free online application – no fee to be paid – for the course of your preference (only one);
• Sponsorship of international mobility to Siena, Italy (coverage of round-trip economy class flights, arrival and departure transfers, visa fees — if necessary —, accommodation in a 3-star hotel — or similar — within the city of Siena, 3 meals per day and daily transport — if necessary —) in the dates of the specific course for which you apply and are selected;
• Full access to professional networking and performance activities during your artistic residency in Siena.

STEP 2 / Enrolment Process

To enroll in a course:

• Complete the online REGISTRATION FORM with all the required information.
• Upload the necessary attachments as specified.
• Choose the course you wish to attend (limit to one course per application).
• Include link(s) to your audition video(s), prepared according to the course's admission requirements.
• Submit the form to complete your enrollment.

• Check your email for a confirmation message.

   

STEP 3 / Monitor your inbox regularly to learn if you have been selected to participate in the programme.
