This online consultation is organized by UNESCO and the International Task Force on Teachers for Education 2030 in preparation for the World Conference on Early Childhood Care and Education (WCECCE) to be held in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, from 14 to 16 November 2022. 

Objectives of the consultation:

  1. Collect feedback on the preliminary findings of the global thematic report on ECCE personnel, including sharing of good practices and experiences.
  2. Review the issues to be discussed during the parallel session on teachers during the World Conference and the good practices which could be showcased.

The consultation will consist of a plenary presentation of preliminary findings of the global thematic report on ECCE personnel currently developed by UNESCO in collaboration with the UNESCO Chair on Supporting Early Years Care and Education at the Danish School of Education (Aarhus University, Copenhagen, Denmark), and will be followed by group discussions with guided questions.

Participants will also have the option to provide written feedback after the consultation. Interpretation will be available in English, French and Spanish during the plenary discussions.

Introduction (20 minutes)

  • Opening remarks by Mr Carlos Vargas, Chief of Section for Teacher Development at UNESCO and Head of the Teacher Task Force Secretariat
  • Presentation of the paper on ECCE personnel by Prof. Fabio Dovigo, UNESCO Chair on Supporting Early Years Care and Education, Aarhus University
  • Q&A for clarification 

Breakout Discussions (45 minutes)
