As climate-related disasters continue to pose unprecedented challenges worldwide, there is growing recognition of the vital role that heritage and gender equality play in fostering resilient communities. UNESCO and its partners strive to empower women to become agents of change, driving community-led efforts towards reducing disaster risks, while safeguarding and leveraging invaluable heritage assets for present and future generations. The forthcoming webinar organized under the auspices of the EU-funded RESILIAGE project aims to explore the crucial nexus of gender, heritage, and resilience-building strategies in the context of disasters.

The webinar will convene experts across disciplines to explore groundbreaking approaches that harness both natural and cultural heritage to bolster community resilience, emphasizing the empowerment of women in this critical domain. With a focus on inclusivity and gender parity, the speakers will delve into the pivotal contributions of women in science and their indispensable role in bridging the gender gap within disaster risk reduction efforts.
